Lace up for a one-of-a-kind race through history! The Drop Dead 5K returns this fall with our unique course winding through the peaceful, scenic paths of Charlotte’s Historic Elmwood Pinewood Cemetery. Covering 70+ acres, this resting place is home to some of the city’s most notable names.
Help Restore the Legacy of Patrick Harty
During Hurricane Helene in 2024, the historic box tomb and family plot of Patrick Harty, one of Mecklenburg County’s earliest and most respected craftsmen, was damaged and now urgently needs restoration.
We have the opportunity to preserve his memory and craftsmanship by restoring his final resting place. Your donation will go directly toward the careful repair and preservation of the Harty family plot and box tomb, ensuring this vital piece of Charlotte’s history is not lost.
Settlers’ Cemetery Monument Reinstallation
During the late 1990’s, a major restoration occurred in Settler’s Cemetery. Following that preservation effort, vandalized and damaged headstones remain in storage. Donate to be part of a second round of preservation to include the reinstallation of those headstones.
